Part-Time Sheriff's Office Security Officer

The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office/Jail Division is hiring on a continuous basis for a Part-Sheriff’s Office Security Officer. The purpose of this position is to observe conduct and behavior of individuals in civil and criminal cases while in a courtroom setting to prevent disturbances and the escape of inmates. Assists jurors during terms of court, searches the courtrooms for weapons and other contraband, and acts directly upon the instructions from the judge in potentially threatening situations. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
