Basketball Referee

Job Details: Job Location: Uptown Campus

• New Orleans, LA, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.17Hourly, Job Shift: Day, The New Orleans JCC is seeking a friendly and knowledgeable basketball referee. . YABL – 5 on 5 full Court (Monday) Mellow ball – 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 half court (Wednesday) The JCC is looking for Mondays and Wednesdays evenings 6- 9 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Expected to keep everyone safe and the games controlled ● Maintain professionalism and serve as role models ● Must wear referee jerseys when working a game ● Open communication with the participants to ensure games start in a timely manner. ● Must have neutral opinion when officiating games Qualifications: Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: ● Must have familiarity with the basketball rules and the modified rules used by the JCC ● Must be able to communicate with players/statistician to get games started promptly ● Must be able to run for extended amounts of time ● Must be able to communicate schedule conflicts with supervisor ● Must be able to remain calm in a stressful competitive atmosphere ● Lead by example; follow all NOJCC policies and procedures as defined in the NOJCC Handbook and as directed by Agency leadership.
