Senior Cards Fraud Monitoring Officer

Jordan Kuwait Bank is seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Cards Fraud Monitoring Officer to join our Compliance Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring card transactions, detecting and investigating potentially fraudulent activities, assessing emerging fraud risks, and contributing to the enhancement of fraud prevention controls in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing monitoring and analysis of card transactions to identify suspicious activities, unusual patterns, and potential fraud risks. Investigate card fraud alerts and incidents, ensuring timely assessment, documentation, escalation, and resolution. Analyze emerging fraud trends, patterns, and typologies, and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective measures.

Evaluate the effectiveness of existing fraud detection rules and monitoring scenarios, recommending enhancements to strengthen fraud prevention capabilities. Handle complex fraud cases and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support effective investigation and resolution. Collaborate with Cards Operations, Risk Management, IT, and other relevant departments to mitigate card-related fraud risks.

Ensure adherence to applicable Central Bank of Jordan regulations, international payment scheme requirements, and internal policies and procedures. Prepare periodic fraud monitoring reports, incident analyses, and key risk indicators (KRIs) to support management oversight and informed decision-making. Contribute to process improvements and initiatives aimed at enhancing fraud monitoring effectiveness, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

& Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant banking experience, preferably in card fraud monitoring, fraud investigation, fraud risk management, or payment card operations. Strong understanding of card payment systems, transaction monitoring, fraud detection methodologies, and emerging fraud typologies.

Hands-on experience with card fraud monitoring systems and familiarity with international payment schemes, particularly Visa and Mastercard. Good knowledge of applicable banking regulations, compliance requirements, and fraud risk management practices. Demonstrated ability to investigate complex fraud cases, analyze transaction patterns, and recommend effective mitigation measures.

Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication, reporting, attention to detail, and cross-functional coordination skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and respond promptly to potential fraud incidents.
