Heavy Equipment Operator

Annual Salary: $50,544.00 - $54,073.50 Hourly: $25.92 - $27.73 Department: General Government, Stormwater Management Division: Stormwater Field Operations FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of specialized heavy equipment used in construction, repair, and maintenance of municipal rights-of-way.

Examples of Duties: Operates heavy equipment, such as excavators, motor graders, and bulldozers. Operates lighter equipment as required. Completes work orders and daily worksheets. Performs daily maintenance on equipment operated and maintains records of such maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Associate’s (AA/AS) and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License – Class A. Other Necessary Requirements: May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
