Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Management: o Lead and manage all controls-related aspects for projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to final testing and commissioning. o Oversee electrical circuit design, component selection, and system architecture for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and automated lines. o Design and configure intuitive Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for effective system operation and monitoring.
- Mobile Robot Programming: o Specialize in material handling applications such as pick-and-place, palletizing, machine tending, and assembly, optimizing robot path planning and cycle times. o Specialize in mobile robotics automation system
- New Product Development (NPD): o Drive the electrical design and development for all new product initiatives, contributing significantly to the conceptualization, prototyping, and realization of future automation solutions. o Ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets. o Integrate vision systems, sensors, and other peripherals into comprehensive control architectures.
- Testing & Validation: o Conduct rigorous in-house and on-site testing, debugging, and validation of control systems and robot applications. o Troubleshoot complex electrical, software, and mechanical issues to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
Requirements
Role Expectations
- Hands-on expertise in PLC programming (Ladder & SCL) for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) is critical.
- Knowledge of C & C++ languages
- Experience in special purpose machines is desirable
- Extensive experience with mobile robots
- Demonstrable experience in New Product Development (NPD), particularly in electrical design and controls integration.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in controls engineering, with a significant portion in a lead or project management capacity.
- Proven track record of successfully managing controls aspects of projects through their entire lifecycle.
