The First Impression Maker: Seasonal Experience Representative At Filoli, every unforgettable visitor experience begins the moment a guest drives through our gates. We are seeking a Seasonal Experience Representative who brings energy, warmth, and proactive hospitality to our front lines. This position serves as the main point of contact for our visitors—balancing ticketing and estate stewardship with a crucial leadership role in managing parking operations and visitor arrival flow.

The Details Location: Gorgeous Filoli Historic House & Garden Position Type: Seasonal (through mid-January 2027), Non-Exempt, Hourly Schedule: Typically 8-20 hours per week and requires a minimum availability of 3 1/2 days per week (including one weekend day). Shifts primarily on evenings and weekends - flexibility is key!

Hourly Rate: $26.00 Reports to: Assistant Guest Experience Manager

• Welcoming The Role: Hospitality Meets Arrival Logistics This is an active, public-facing role where you will rotate throughout the estate—from the main parking areas to the visitor entrance, historic House, and formal Gardens. You are empowered to solve guest inquiries on the spot and ensure seamless service from arrival to departure.

Key Responsibilities

Parking Operations & Traffic Flow (Core Focus) Master the Arrival: Serve as the primary lead for parking lot operations on peak days, high-volume weekends, and major estate events. Guide & Direct: Safely and efficiently direct vehicle traffic, guide parking flow, and maximize space in our parking lots. The First Hello: Greet visitors right as they park, providing immediate wayfinding, answering initial questions, and setting a warm, friendly tone for their visit before they even reach the check-in desk.

Ticketing & Guest Engagement Check-In & Sales: Become a subject matter expert in our Altru ticketing software to quickly process daily admissions, event tickets, and membership purchases. Wayfinding & Info: Share knowledge about Filoli’s history, garden displays, natural lands, and daily schedules with enthusiasm. Service Resolution: Address guest questions or concerns promptly and professionally, de-escalating issues with empathy and calm.

Estate Stewardship & Daily Operations Opening & Closing: Execute daily opening and closing procedures for the House and Gardens, ensuring all guests safely exit at closing time. Property Rotations: Rotate through indoor and outdoor stations across the estate, ensuring high standards of property presentation and guest care.

Success Profile: Who You Are You are an approachable, resilient, and guest-focused communicator who loves working outdoors and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Background: High school diploma or equivalent required (hospitality, public garden, museum, or nature center experience is a major plus!) Bilingual skills are appreciated!

The Parking & Logistics Mindset: Comfortable taking charge outdoors in active parking environments, maintaining safety, and keeping traffic moving with a smile. The Tech Toolkit: Strong computer skills with experience in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and reservation/POS databases (Altru experience is a bonus). A valid Driver’s License is required. Physical & Outdoor Reality Check: First impressions happen in every season! You will work outdoors across various weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, rain, and cold). You must be comfortable standing and walking for most of your shift across uneven dirt paths, gravel, inclines, and paved lots, as well as lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.
