Service Technician Germany | Public transport technology Reports to: Sales Manager, Germany Start date: As soon as possible The opportunity An international manufacturer of technology for the public transport sector is seeking a Service Technician to join its technical support team in Germany. The company offers a friendly, open working environment and is experiencing growth alongside technological and organisational change.

Role overview Working as part of a team, you will resolve technical questions and day-to-day customer issues by telephone and email, with site visits when required. You will also help maintain and support existing hardware and software while working on several projects simultaneously. Your involvement will span the full project lifecycle, from specifying suitable hardware during initial consultations to implementing software on vehicles and installing hardware at customer sites.

You will report to the Sales Manager in Germany and/or a designated contact, collaborating with colleagues across sales, research and development, production and the wider technical service team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-line telephone support for the company’s products, both from the office and while working off site.
• Carry out site evaluations and recommend improvements to resolve customer issues effectively.
• Install or retrofit products at customer sites.
• Create databases and media content for customers and distribution partners using on-board products.
• Work with third-party suppliers to ensure integration between vehicle systems.
• Repair products and systems, producing detailed repair reports.
• Deliver technical training to customers and colleagues.
• Prepare documentation for future reference.
• Work productively with colleagues to achieve shared company objectives.
• Work closely with customers to ensure their requirements are met promptly.
