Job Advertisement – Pastry Chef Gumnut Bakery Gumnut Bakery is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team across our bakery locations in Mittagong, Bowral, and Berrima. We are looking for someone passionate about producing high-quality pastries, cakes, desserts, and baked goods in a busy bakery environment. Key Duties Prepare, bake, and decorate pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked products Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production requirements Prepare fillings, creams, icings, glazes, and decorations Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product consistency Ensure all products meet quality, taste, and presentation standards Operate bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage Support the development of new and seasonal pastry products Work with the team to meet daily production targets Requirements Relevant qualification in Patisserie, Baking, Commercial Cookery, or similar At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role Strong knowledge of pastry, cake, and dessert preparation Good attention to detail and presentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and busy periods as required Benefits Full-time stable employment Supportive bakery team environment Opportunity to work with a well-established bakery business Career growth and skill development opportunities Competitive salary package How to Apply Please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your relevant pastry chef experience.
