Accounting Intern

Perma-Seal Basement Systems is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Finance & Accounting team. This is a great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience, develop practical accounting skills, and learn how financial operations support a successful business.

As an Accounting Intern, you'll gain exposure to a variety of accounting and finance functions, from daily administrative responsibilities to more involved accounting processes. You'll work alongside experienced team members, receive guidance and training, and take on additional responsibilities as your skills and confidence grow.

What You'll Do

Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and recordkeeping. Assist with preparing customer invoices, job statements, and other financial documentation. Gain exposure to customer financing programs, including processing applications, tracking approvals, and maintaining related records.

Assist with account reconciliations, payment verification, and researching discrepancies. Support data entry, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate accounting records. Help organize and maintain financial documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Collaborate with Finance and other departments to support daily operations and special projects.

Learn additional accounting processes and take on more complex assignments as your knowledge and skills develop.

What We're Looking For

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles through coursework or experience. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial information.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Good communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Dependable, curious, and willing to ask questions, take initiative, and learn new things. No prior professional accounting experience required — we're happy to teach someone who's eager to learn!
