Senior IT Support Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Support Technician to join our hybrid team. This role requires advanced IT knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional service to clients. You will serve as an escalation point for complex issues, handle high-level troubleshooting, and guide junior technicians when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 remote support for desktops, servers, networking, and cloud systems. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues. Configure, maintain, and optimize Windows and/or Linux servers, firewalls, and network infrastructure. Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and other enterprise cloud platforms.

Assist with network design, configuration, and documentation. Act as a technical lead for escalated service tickets and client projects. Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles. Provide mentoring and guidance to junior IT support staff.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a commercial or enterprise environment. Must live in the United States. Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, networking (LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls), and security best practices. Strong troubleshooting skills for desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, Proxmox, XCP-Ng) preferred.

Familiarity with VoIP systems, access control, and security systems a plus. Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft, Cisco) strongly preferred. NOTE: A technical skills test will be administered prior to hiring.
