Senior Backend Software Engineer, Global E-commerce, US Shelf Growth & Campaign - Global E-Commerce US

People engage directly with sellers and creators through shoppable videos and interactive livestreams, discovering and buying trending products without leaving the app. We want to be where people find innovative, unique, high-quality products from around the world, in an environment that stays safe and secure for sellers, creators, and users alike.

You will help redefine how people discover, search, and shop for the things they love, on a business expanding quickly across global markets.

Responsibilities

• Strong backend experience with high-traffic online services, including API design, caching, feature flags, traffic control, monitoring, and launch safety.
• Experience working with recommendation, feed, ads, search, or e-commerce ranking systems; able to integrate Algo signals into online serving logic.
• Data-driven mindset with experience supporting A/B experiments, metric instrumentation, launch monitoring, and debugging CTR/GMV/CVR/stability changes.
• Good product sense for e-commerce scenarios.
• Strong ownership and communication; able to drive ambiguous projects end-to-end with PM, Algo, FE, QA, Design, Data, and regional business teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or above degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
• 7+ years of experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python/Scala/C++ programming languages.
• Experience in software programming capabilities, exhibits good code design and coding style.
• Experience in understanding data structure, algorithm design, analysis, and highly scalable systems design.
• Experience in product and business understanding, able to align product engineering directions to support current and future products and business.

Preferred Qualifications

• E-commerce industry experience is preferred.
• Understanding of observability, reliability, and performance optimization for large-scale systems.
• Passion for programming, strong learning ability, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive mindset toward staying current with industry technologies.
