Senior Back-End Engineer - Enterprise Integrations (Latam)

Remote (Latin America)ContractPosted Sep 22, 2026

Job description

About the Role

This is a contractor role open to candidates based in Latam. We're looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer (Enterprise Integrations); you'll own the integrations for a CRM and proposal software company built for the construction industry. You'll connect it to the systems its customers run on: construction ERPs, Microsoft and Google tools, email and calendar providers, and enterprise identity systems.

You'll design the Node.js and TypeScript services that bring structure to that: bidirectional sync, field mapping, retries, idempotency, and safe recovery. All of it has to hold up as customer and data volume grow. It's a senior individual contributor role with a lot of ownership. You'll take ambiguous problems from requirements through to production, review both human- and AI-generated code, and work directly with customers and external partners.

Disciplined AI-assisted workflows are part of how the team ships, but they support engineering judgment rather than replace it. Most Important 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with senior-level ownership of backend systems 6+ years of professional Node.js experience. Deep proficiency in TypeScript with Express.

js or NestJS. A track record of personally designing and owning complex third-party integrations in production, beyond standard SaaS APIs Strong experience with OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, webhooks, and token lifecycle management. Experience building queue-driven systems (such as AWS SQS) that handle retries, dead-letter queues, backpressure, and idempotency.

Strong experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM such as TypeORM. Hands-on experience with AWS and Docker. Strong system design skills for resilient distributed systems and data synchronization with unreliable third-party APIs. A structured, repeatable workflow for building production software with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar), including how you review and validate AI-generated code.

Must be able to maintain at least 4-6 hours of dedicated daily core business hours overlap with U.S. Pacific Standard Time.

Nice to Have

SAML 2.0, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), or SCIM experience. Microsoft Graph or Google Workspace API experience. Experience integrating construction software, ERPs, CRMs, or accounting systems. Experience creating internal AI engineering standards, tooling, or workflows. Personal Traits You bring order to messy systems and don't need clean documentation to make progress.

You think about failure modes, partial syncs, and recovery before you write the happy path. You can explain technical trade-offs to a customer or partner clearly and credibly. You treat AI output with healthy skepticism and hold it to the same bar as your own code. You own what you build after it ships, including the incidents.
