Job description
Project Financial Management: Oversee the financial aspects of all construction projects, including budgeting, cost estimation, forecasting, and financial reporting. Develop and implement project control processes and systems to monitor project costs and performance. Ensure compliance with financial standards, policies, and procedures.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Establish project budgets, including detailed cost breakdowns and allocation of resources. Monitor and manage project costs, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions to maintain budget adherence. Coordinate with project managers to ensure that all financial aspects of the project are tracked and reported.
Performance Analysis and Reporting: Analyze project performance, including earned value management (EVM), cost variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and performance summaries to senior management. Provide insights and recommendations for improving project financial performance and profitability.
Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies for potential cost overruns, schedule delays, or other financial challenges. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure proactive risk management. Develop contingency plans and financial scenarios for different project outcomes. Strategic Planning and Leadership: Contribute to the development of strategic plans for project delivery, including resource allocation and financial targets.
Provide guidance and support to project teams on financial management best practices. Mentor and lead project controllers and other finance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Contract Management: Review and manage contracts, subcontracts, and change orders to ensure financial terms are favorable and risks are minimized.
Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to negotiate contract terms and resolve any financial disputes. Coordination with Stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership to align financial goals with project objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact for financial reporting to clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure effective communication of project financial status to all stakeholders.
