Communications Officer

Summary: The Communications Officer serves as a pivotal leader in directing daily operational workflows while supervising the Communications and Advocacy Officer. This position is dedicated to ensuring all strategic initiatives align seamlessly with the organization's core objectives. The role centers on orchestrating the implementation of advocacy and communication strategies, crafting high-impact content, sustaining a robust digital footprint, and fostering meaningful engagement with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy and Production: Lead the end-to-end creation and coordination of diverse communication assets, including video scripts, graphical designs, infographics, and multimedia materials. Digital Presence Management: Analyze social media trends to maximize message reach, utilize data analytics to refine campaign performance, and oversee the organization's online platforms to drive engagement.

Advocacy Execution: Cultivate and sustain strategic alliances with government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and community groups to advance advocacy goals. Public Relations and Messaging: Author compelling press releases, feature articles, and blog content to articulate core messages and boost public visibility.

Media Liaison: Manage all media interactions, including the organization of press events, coordination of interviews, and acting as the primary point of contact for press inquiries. Team Development and Mentorship: Deliver training workshops to elevate the communication competencies of the broader team and provide direct guidance to the Communications and Advocacy Officer to ensure adherence to industry best practices.

Collaborative Leadership: Supervise the Communications and Advocacy Officer to guarantee quality output and professional growth, while partnering with external entities to promote gender equality and GBV initiatives. Resource Mobilization Support: Assist in fundraising and partnership acquisition efforts by developing targeted communication materials
