Operations Technician

Operations Technician Join Mercer Landmark and help support the success of local agriculture. We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Operations Technician to assist with grain and agronomy operations across our facilities. This position may be based at one of our locations and could require travel between nearby facilities to support operational needs.

Position Summary

The Operations Technician plays a vital role in the day-to-day success of our operations by supporting grain handling, facility maintenance, equipment operation, and customer service activities. This individual helps maintain safe, efficient, and well-organized facilities while delivering exceptional service to our patrons and contributing to the overall success of the cooperative.

Essential Responsibilities Assist with grain receiving, handling, storage, grading, and shipping operations. Perform a variety of operational tasks both inside and outside the facility. Complete opening and closing procedures to ensure efficient daily operations. Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and effectively.

Conduct routine facility inspections and assist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas through regular housekeeping activities. Travel between facilities as needed to support business and operational demands. Follow all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Provide outstanding customer service by supporting patrons in a professional, courteous, and solutions-focused manner. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Basic reading, comprehension, and problem-solving abilities. Organized and able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks. Knowledge of workplace safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred. Forklift experience preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Ability to climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and perform facility inspections when necessary. Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and materials associated with grain and agronomy operations.

Capable of lifting heavy objects, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing physically demanding work in varying weather conditions. Willingness to work extended hours during seasonal peak periods. Ability to build positive relationships with customers, coworkers, and management. Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
