NQ SAIPA ACCOUNTANT

  • STELLENBOSCH An exciting opportunity is available for a Financial Accountant to support the Group Financial Manager across transactional accounting, financial reporting and compliance. The role offers varied exposure to the group’s finance function, including management accounts and audit support. Initially On-Site
  • Then strong potential to turn HYBRID once you've learned the ropes.

Responsibilities include

Oversee the full accounts payable process, from purchase requisitions and orders through goods receipt, supplier invoice matching, processing and payment. Review bank transactions imported into the accounting system, allocate payments correctly and maintain reconciled bank accounts. Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns and ensure statutory obligations are met within the required deadlines.

Assist with revenue reviews and financial ratio analysis to support business decisions. Contribute to monthly management accounts and supporting schedules. Prepare information for audits, respond to queries and liaise directly with external auditors. Assist with additional finance tasks and projects across the group.

Requirements

Requirements A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Previous experience in financial accounting, accounts payable or a comparable finance position. A sound understanding of accounts payable and procurement-to-payment processes, with practical experience advantageous. Working knowledge of VAT and statutory financial compliance.

Experience using Sage or a comparable ERP/accounting platform is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial information. Accuracy and attention to detail when handling high transaction volumes. A proactive approach to resolving issues, taking responsibility and completing tasks.

Integrity, clear communication and effective collaboration with finance, procurement and operational teams. A willingness to develop professionally and gain wider experience across the finance function.
