MERL Data Officer

Summary The MERL & Data Officer plays a vital role in assisting the Strategic Operations Lead in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of this critical information. In this capacity, you will be responsible for gathering, verifying, analyzing, and presenting data that illuminates student progress in learning, attendance, and leadership development.

Responsibilities

Manage daily attendance monitoring for all classes and TEEP sessions, ensuring timely submission of data by every class. Collaborate with the Strategic Operations Lead to establish and sustain user-friendly data collection platforms, such as Google Forms or Sheets, for tracking attendance, assessments, and projects. Conduct routine accuracy audits of data entries and partner with relevant staff to rectify discrepancies at their origin.

Assist in creating and refining a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for data collection to ensure system continuity independent of any single individual. Oversee the logistics, scoring, and data entry processes for TaRL baseline, mid-term, and end-term assessments in coordination with the Curriculum Implementation Lead.

Facilitate data management for the annual entrance assessment, including the baseline data TMA has pledged to republish after one year. Generate concise result summaries categorized by class, level, and subject within established timelines. Produce monthly attendance analyses segmented by class, day of the week, and other relevant trends, distributing findings to the Curriculum Implementation Lead and Student Engagement Officer.

Partner with the Strategic Operations Lead to build a termly MEL dashboard aligned with TMA's four strategic outcomes: Academic Foundation, Problem-Solving and Leadership, Economic Empowerment, and Long-Term Life Trajectory. Draft anonymized case studies and evidence summaries for reports and campaigns, adhering strictly to TMA's consent and anonymity protocols.

Aid in termly learning reviews by preparing necessary data and facilitating sessions where staff collectively analyze information and determine actionable steps. Ensure all student and staff data resides within TMA-owned Google Workspace accounts, restricting access strictly to authorized personnel. Verify that all published data and narratives are fully anonymized, excluding names, faces, or identifying details unless specific consent rules permit otherwise.

Adhere to TMA's child protection and data privacy policies, promptly reporting any concerns to the Child Protection Officer.
