Middle School Substitute Teacher

Job Responsibilities

Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria Job Requirements: Be a graduate of an accredited high school Have previous experience instructing and/or supervising children Be at least 18 year of age to substitute at the elementary level, K-5 Be at least 21 years of age, or have 60 hours of college credit from an accredited institution to substitute at the secondary level, 6-12.

If you have education beyond high school be sure to note these hours on the application. Hold a valid Indiana Substitute Teaching Permit Pass an expanded background check- required by Indiana law
