Preschool Instructional Assistant - Maternity Leave

Preschool Instructional Assistant — Maternity Leave Coverage Dates: September 25–January 5 Position Type: Temporary We are seeking a caring and dependable Preschool Instructional Assistant to support our classroom during a maternity leave. The assistant will work closely with the preschool teacher to create a safe, welcoming environment where young children can learn and grow.

Responsibilities

Support classroom activities, play, and daily routines. Work with individual students and small groups under the teacher’s direction. Help children develop communication, social, and independence skills. Assist with meals, toileting, hygiene, and transitions as needed. Support students with diverse learning needs and follow teacher-directed accommodations and behavior supports.

Prepare materials, maintain an organized classroom, and supervise students. Maintain student confidentiality and communicate effectively with staff.

Qualifications

Experience working with young children preferred. Patience, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills. Ability to follow teacher guidance and respond to individual student needs. Must meet district employment requirements and complete required background checks.
