Project Manager - Land Development
Job description
Description We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead land and site development projects across Central Florida. This role will manage a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects, including residential, commercial, and municipal developments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, client relationship skills, and the ability to successfully lead multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery Manage land and site development projects from planning and design through permitting and construction Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, and work plans Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards Coordinate internal design teams, including civil engineering, permitting, and support staff Client & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and agencies Build and maintain strong relationships with public agencies, developers, and stakeholders Lead client meetings, presentations, and project updates Technical Oversight Oversee preparation of site design plans, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management systems Ensure compliance with local, state and municipal regulations Review engineering plans, reports, and calculations for accuracy and completeness Permitting & Regulatory Coordination Manage entitlement and permitting processes with local jurisdictions Coordinate approvals with agencies such as counties, cities, and water management districts Stay current on Northeast Florida development regulations and codes Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers and project staff Support team utilization, staffing, and workload balancing Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment Business Development (as applicable) Support proposal development, scope definition, and fee estimates Participate in networking and client development efforts within the region Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida (or ability to obtain quickly) 5–10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land/site development Proven experience managing both public and private sector projects Strong knowledge of Northeast Florida permitting and regulatory processes Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and project management tools Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills #LI-WL1
