Diesel Mechanic - Second Chance Company - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our clients maintenance team working on a fleet of garbage and refuse trucks and equipment. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This client is a Second Chance Employer and welcome qualified candidates with felony backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other vehicle components Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on refuse trucks Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Repair or replace brakes, suspension components, steering systems, and driveline parts Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner Follow company safety procedures and regulations Requirements Qualifications Previous diesel mechanic experience preferred Experience with heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, or refuse trucks is a plus Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues Familiarity with hydraulic systems preferred Own basic mechanic tools preferred Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic Physical Requirements Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in various positions throughout the day Comfortable working in a shop environment and outdoors when needed Ability to perform physically demanding work safely Benefits This is a temp to hire position and full time benefits will be offered upon full hire status
