This role supports our Tactical Missiles and Integrated Defense Systems business, which designs and develops integrated missile and defense systems that support critical missions across air, land, and sea. We combine comprehensive analysis, engineering, and program execution capabilities to deliver mission-tailored solutions that reduce lead times, lower costs, and simplify complex multi‑vendor supply chains.
Backed by decades of flight-proven and fielded performance, we design and build mission-critical technologies including launch systems, propulsion, payload integration solutions, UAV components, missile subsystems, and Safe & Arm systems. In this role, you will ensure employee data is accurate, reliable, and up to date so teams across Karman can focus on delivering critical defense capabilities.
You will manage employee information, streamline HR data processes, maintain HR resources, and support employees and managers with system questions. Working closely with Human Resources (HR), Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Information Technology (IT), you will help maintain dependable reporting, consistent workflows, and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
Maintains accurate employee records in the human resources information system (HRIS), including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation updates, separations, and organizational changes in alignment with approval workflows. Audits HRIS data to identify and resolve discrepancies, duplicate records, and missing information.
Verifies employee data flow across payroll, benefits, and timekeeping systems and supports resolution of integration errors. Prepares, validates, and maintains employee data for reporting, headcount tracking, compliance activities, service metrics, and audits. Maintains HR forms, templates, communications, and process documentation to reflect current policies and procedures.
Supports recurring HR processes, including open enrollment and compensation cycles, through system updates and configuration. Responds to employee and manager questions regarding HRIS access, self-service functionality, and data corrections. Assists with testing, upgrades, and documentation related to HRIS updates or new modules.
Protects confidential employee information and maintains records in accordance with privacy standards and internal policies. Provides administrative support for employee events and engagement activities. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of human resources (HR) experience. Working knowledge of onboarding, offboarding, employee status changes, and compensation changes.
Strong data-entry accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic formulas. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, ADP Vantage, Workday, or comparable systems. Familiarity with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requirements, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reporting, Affirmative Action Program (AAP) reporting, and Form I‑9 requirements. Experience supporting benefits administration or open enrollment.
Familiarity with payroll and leave‑of‑absence processes. Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS integrations. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Human resources certifications such as Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM‑CP), or progress toward one.
Experience in a regulated industry or government contracting environment. This position requires U.S. person status under U.S. export control laws, including U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.
