Substitute teachers play an important role in maintaining continuity in the classroom and supporting our students’ learning experiences. We are especially interested in individuals who have flexible schedules and are available to substitute several days per week. Whether you have previous classroom experience or simply enjoy helping students learn and grow, we welcome you to apply. Schedule: Typical hours: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Opportunities may be available for full-day or half-day assignments and/or long term assignments. Rate of Pay: Full Day: $90 Half Day: $45 Responsibilities Substitute teachers are responsible for implementing the lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher, supervising and engaging students, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment, and fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of teaching in accordance with applicable laws, school policies, and procedures. Reliable attendance, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting student learning are essential. Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Previous experience working with students is preferred. All candidates must successfully complete the required pre-employment screening process, including: Fingerprinting through Fieldprint: Candidates must complete fingerprinting for the Department of Education as part of the required screening process.

Background Screening: Candidates must successfully complete a background screening. Drug Testing: Candidates must complete a hair-sample drug test. Successful completion of all required screening procedures is a condition of employment with Bayside Academy.
