Bus Driver - Part Time

Job Details: Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Purpose: A Bus Driver at Summit Christian Academy is responsible for safely transporting students and staff to various events, ensuring a reliable and punctual service that supports the educational and extracurricular activities of SCA.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate school buses for transporting students and staff to and from various events, including field trips, sporting events, and other school-related activities.
• Ensure the safety and security of all passengers by adhering to traffic laws and school policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, addressing any issues that may arise during the journey.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents regarding transportation schedules and any changes or delays.
• Assist passengers as needed, ensuring a safe boarding and exiting process.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly to appropriate school administration.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay informed about safety protocols and school policies.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel usage for school reporting purposes.Qualifications: Required Education:
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Required Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional bus driver
• Proven track record of safely transporting passengers to various events
• Experience in driving buses for educational institutions or similar organizations is preferred Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff
• Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules
• Proficiency in performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
