• RICHMOND, VA, Position Type: Seasonal, Salary Range: $3.50 - $5.00Hourly, Job Shift: Any, Job Category: Server/Service Attendant, The Jefferson Hotel is seeking an experienced, professional, and guest-focused Seasonal Server to join the TJ’s Restaurant team. This seasonal position is responsible for delivering attentive, personalized service and ensuring a seamless, enjoyable dining experience for every guest. The ideal candidate will be friendly, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Available Shifts: AM Shift: 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM PM Shift: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM Schedule & Availability MUST be available to work the designated shift, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed. This is a seasonal position. Key Requirements Availability: MUST be available to work the designated shift, including weekends and holidays. Experience: 1–2 years of serving experience in a full-service or high-quality dining environment required. Customer Service: Demonstrates a genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing attentive, personalized service. Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and teammates. Food & Beverage Knowledge: Familiarity with food and beverage service, including the ability to make thoughtful recommendations. Professionalism: Dependable, punctual, polished in appearance, and attentive to detail. Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tables and competing priorities while maintaining service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly, present menus, answer questions, and provide attentive service throughout their visit. Order Management: Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders into the POS system. Food & Beverage Service: Deliver food and beverages with attention to presentation, timing, and guest satisfaction. Guest Relations: Monitor tables, anticipate guest needs, and respond to requests with urgency and professionalism.

Table Maintenance: Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently to prepare for incoming guests. Service Area Maintenance: Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked service areas throughout the shift. Food Safety & Compliance: Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines. Side Work: Complete assigned opening, closing, and other service-related duties.

Teamwork: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, hosts, and fellow servers to ensure coordinated, efficient service.

Qualifications

1–2 years of serving experience in a full-service restaurant or high-quality dining environment. Knowledge of food and beverage service, with the ability to make informed recommendations and discuss menu offerings. Warm, personable approach and a genuine passion for hospitality. Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed. Dependable, punctual, professional, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Traits of a Successful Candidate Friendly, engaging, and attentive to guest needs.
