PHO - Banquet Captain

Position Summary

The Banquet Captain is responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of banquet functions to ensure successful event execution and guest satisfaction. This position oversees banquet servers and bartenders, ensures setup and service meet hotel standards, and serves as the main point of contact between the banquet team, kitchen, and event organizers during functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure all setups and services are completed according to specifications. Supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and setup crews, ensuring efficient and professional service throughout each event. Conduct pre-event meetings with staff to review assignments, service procedures, and event details.

Greet and communicate with event planners, meeting organizers, and guests to ensure satisfaction and address any issues promptly. Inspect event spaces prior to functions to verify cleanliness, proper setup, and compliance with hotel standards. Coordinate with the kitchen, audio-visual, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.

Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and guest satisfaction. Manage and monitor the breakdown and cleanup of banquet areas after events. Assist in training, coaching, and evaluating banquet staff performance. Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations. Handle guest billing, gratuities, and reports as required by management.
