Commissioning Technician

The Commissioning Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, problem remediation, and testing on medium voltage DC systems for large-scale, utility-grade solar projects (4-40 MW). This role involves hands-on work to ensure the safe and efficient operation of solar systems, meeting industry standards and performance specifications Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on medium voltage DC systems in utility-scale solar projects.

Conduct testing on various system components to ensure proper functionality and compliance with specifications. Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues to minimize system downtime and maintain optimal performance. Collaborate with other team members and project leads to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.

Project Scope and Equipment: Work on large utility-scale solar projects ranging from 4 MW to 40 MW. Handle medium voltage DC systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards. Use client-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Flame-Resistant (FR) gear, and tooling for safe and compliant operation.

Qualifications

Proven experience with medium voltage DC systems, preferably within the solar or renewable energy sector. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical systems. Familiarity with utility-scale solar project commissioning and testing processes. Proficiency in using testing equipment and tools relevant to solar and medium voltage systems.

Ability to interpret technical documents, including electrical schematics and diagrams. Strong adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations. Certifications: OSHA 10, NFPA70E Requirements: Ability to work 40 hours per week with the possibility of travel to various project sites. Ability to work outdoors and in varied weather conditions.

Physically capable of handling equipment and working in confined spaces when required.
