Restaurant Attendant

The Barback's primary responsibility is to assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the bartender and ensure that the bar operates smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities

Obtain a working knowledge of all hot, cold, alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverage menus. Prepare drinks as per order and according to standard. Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc. Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.

Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs, or changing out kegs, if needed. Determine the beverage preference of customers. Answer questions and make drink recommendations and inform new and special drinks. Ensure the bar area is clean, sanitized and properly set up. Communicate courteously and effectively with customers and co-workers.

Collaborate with service and kitchen staff. Maintain hygiene and grooming standards.

• Gratuities. These are pooled with all FOH and BOH staff.
