What You'll Do

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen, café, employee areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces. Perform routine and deep cleaning, including floors, kitchen equipment, appliances, grease traps, and ventilation areas. Empty trash, recycling, and food waste and maintain designated disposal areas.

Keep storage areas, loading docks, hallways, and entrances clean and organized. Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed. Safely use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, and safety hazards to management. Follow company safety and sanitation procedures and applicable NYC Department of Health standards.

Support additional cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance projects as needed. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as needed to support the team and business.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience as a kitchen porter, sanitation, janitorial, custodial, dishwasher, or in commercial cleaning preferred. Experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, grocery store, or food-production environment is a plus. Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and safe chemical-handling practices preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and work in hot, cold, wet, humid, and noisy environments.
