Project & Event Management Specialist

Employment Type: Contract Location: Nunavut – travel required as projects arise About the Role We are looking for an experienced Project and Event Management Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. You will plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of events and projects including conferences, workshops, trade shows, seminars, and community consultations across Nunavut.

You will be expected to respond quickly to project call-ups and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines. Travel to various Nunavut communities will be required as projects arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute advertising and promotional campaigns for events
• Secure sponsors and partners for events and projects
• Coordinate with suppliers, exhibitors, and event committees
• Develop and oversee event budgets, ensuring cost control
• Organize venues, speakers, and technical support logistics
• Administer attendee fees and registration processes
• Prepare event materials and signage
• Manage on-site event logistics and security coordination
• Oversee venue and room bookings across communities
• Organize familiarization trips for stakeholders
• Provide post-event performance reports and attendee feedback summaries Requirements
• Experience in project and/or event management
• Experience organizing events with large numbers of attendees
• Experience working in remote or northern Canadian communities
• Strong budget management, vendor coordination, and logistics skills
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
• Willingness and ability to travel to Nunavut communities as required
• Familiarity with Nunavut tourism and cultural industries
• Diploma or degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional certification in event or project management (e.g., CMP, PMP)
