2026 FALL -Varsity Asst., JV, and Volunteer Coaches

• August -November 2026 Southmont High School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Spring Athletic Programs in the following roles: (we offer Volleyball, Football, Boys Tennis, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Co-Ed Cross Country, Girls Golf, & Cheerleading) Varsity Assistant Coach Junior Varsity (JV) Coach Volunteer Coach Position Overview Coaches will support the Head Coach and Athletic Department in building a competitive, positive, and student-focused program. Candidates should be committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

Responsibilities

Assist with planning and conducting practices Teach sport-specific skills and game strategies Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability Supervise athletes at practices and contests Support program organization, communication, and equipment management Follow all school, conference, and IHSAA guidelines Qualifications Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff Completion of required certifications (CPR, First Aid, state coaching requirements) Must meet all Southmont High School employment and background check requirements Preferred Attributes Positive role model for student-athletes Commitment to academic and athletic excellence Ability to build strong relationships with students and families Passion for mentoring and developing young people
