Barista

Job Purpose: Mc. Lean Bible Church (MBC) is seeking a Barista to join our Café team. The position is responsible for preparing high-quality beverages. ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate must have a passion for coffee, experimenting with flavors, developing new drinks, and showing creativity through presentation.

The individual must also be able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Work Schedule: Sundays only: 7:30 am to 2:00 pm Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Prepare and serve coffee, coffee-based drinks, tea, and other beverages following Café recipes and guidelines Take customer orders and provide friendly, efficient service Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients and supplies Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment and utensils Promote new products, specials, or seasonal offerings to customers Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure smooth operations and safe food handling When necessary, assist with processing payments (via cash, credit/debit cards) and do so accurately Assist in restocking inventory as needed Support team members and help with other tasks when necessary.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Barista preferred Previous experience in food service or customer service will also be considered Passion for coffee and customer service Basic math skills to handle monetary transactions, as necessary Familiarity with food safety standards and proper hygiene in a food-related environment is a plus Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail, particularly in taking orders and handling payments Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate clearly with others Working conditions/ Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs (e.

g. coffee bags, supplies) Must be able to handle hot beverages and equipment with care Ability to work in a busy environment and move quickly while providing excellent customer service Manual dexterity to operate machinery (e.g. espresso machine, grinders).
