Direct Support Professional

This support may include helping the individual accomplish activities of daily living including but not limited to eating, toileting, dressing, bathing, transferring, and ambulation, while encouraging as much independence as possible.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required At least 18 years of age First Aid/CPR certification Completion of TB screening and testing Completion of Physical including transportation/transfer addendum Safe driving record, current driver’s license, personal vehicle, and current motor vehicle liability insurance required, ability to successfully pass criminal background checks Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities are based upon the needs of the individual supported and may vary depending on their unique needs and goals Communicates effectively with the individual to whom they provide services including his or her family Provides assistance with activities of daily living including personal care and nutrition supports and in increasing and/or maintaining their everyday independence within their homes and communities by assisting with light household duties including cooking, laundry and shopping Provides transportation as needed or transport individuals in agency vehicle Responsible for completion of necessary documentation including time sheet, daily progress notes, incident reports, data tracking, etc.
