Job description

Posting Title: Ophthalmologist Industry: Hospital Salary: ₹300,000 to ₹450,000 LPM Work Experience: 0-4 years Required Skills: Retina surgery required --- Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnostic evaluations for patients with retinal and anterior segment pathologies.
  • Perform advanced retinal surgical procedures including vitrectomy, intravitreal injections, laser photocoagulation, and endolaser surgery.
  • Interpret imaging modalities such as OCT, fluorescein angiography, and fundus photography to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with complex retinal diseases, ensuring timely and effective intervention.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including optometrists, neurologists, endocrinologists, and radiologists for holistic patient management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education programs.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on disease progression, treatment options, and post-operative care.
  • Support the training and mentorship of residents, medical students, and junior ophthalmic staff.
  • Stay current with advancements in retinal surgery techniques, emerging therapies, and technological innovations in ophthalmology. --- Requirements:
  • MBBS degree followed by MD/MS in Ophthalmology from a recognized medical institution.
  • Postgraduate training or fellowship certification in Retina and Vitreous Surgery (preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates with strong surgical exposure).
  • Proven experience in performing retinal surgeries, including vitrectomy and intravitreal injections.
  • Proficiency in interpreting retinal imaging and utilizing advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage high-pressure surgical environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Valid medical license and registration with the Medical Council of India (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospital setting with rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development, and adherence to hospital protocols.
