Game Analyst / Analytics Engineer

Helsinki, FinlandContractPosted Apr 27, 2026

Job description

We're on the lookout for passionate game developers: the ones who were never given a proper chance, the ones stuck in a rut making match-3 games for the wrong reasons, or working on “creative” projects that execs threw at them. Do you still dream of making beautiful games? BIT ODD is a collaborative startup where the best idea wins, and everyone is encouraged to contribute.

Things move fast, priorities can shift quickly, and not everything is perfectly structured, but that's part of the craft. We care about doing things the right way and don’t limit people to narrow roles. If you see something that can be improved, you're expected to jump in and make it happen. As a Game Analyst / Analytics Engineer at BIT ODD, you’ll turn player data into decisions for Field Day - our debut game on mobile.

You will work in a small team, taking ownership of both the analytics pipeline and the insights that come out of it. You’ll collaborate closely with game design, economy design, marketing and live ops to understand player behavior, validate new features, and continuously improve acquisition, retention, engagement, and monetization.

Your expertise in building reliable data systems, asking the right questions, and translating numbers into clear actions will directly impact how the game evolves, how we spend on growth, and how it performs live.

  • Own the analytics stack end-to-end, from event design and tracking to data pipelines, data models and dashboards
  • Define and maintain key game and business metrics, so the whole team reads the numbers the same way
  • Analyze player behavior to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, from the first session and early churn to long-term player segments
  • Work closely with game and economy design to balance gameplay, difficulty, matchmaking, and the economy
  • Support user acquisition performance: channel and campaign attribution, CPI, ROAS, and retention and LTV by channel, to guide where marketing spend goes
  • Measure the impact of updates and live events, and size opportunities before the team commits to them
  • Build automated reporting, such as daily KPI reports and UA and growth dashboards, so the team gets the numbers without having to ask
  • Monitor technical health alongside gameplay: performance, crashes, loading and device-level stability
  • Support live operations and player support by supporting performance, reacting to changes, and investigating player issues.
  • Make data self-serve: document the pipeline and build tools, including AI assistants, so non-analysts can answer their own questions.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for the team You’ll be working on-site at our office right in the very center of Helsinki. Great teamwork happens in person, so this role is not remote. We are currently not considering candidates requiring relocation.
  • Experience working on a live game as a data analyst, product analyst, or analytics engineer
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Experience building data pipelines or working with modern data stacks (Big. Query + Airflow preferred)
  • Experience using AI tools (LLMs, coding assistants) in analytics workflows
  • R/Python for analysis, automation and modelling
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools
  • Solid understanding of core game concepts like retention, LTV, ARPDAU, funnels, and cohorts
  • Experience with mobile user acquisition data: MMPs (Singular or similar), ad network reporting, attribution, CPI and ROAS
  • A solid grounding in statistics
  • Ability to turn data into actionable insights that influence game design, marketing and product decisions
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly to non-analysts.

Nice to have

  • Experience with F2P economy design, PvP matchmaking, or competitive multiplayer games. BIT ODD is a group of passionate game artisans hand-crafting mobile games. Our wild idea is this: games should be focused around gameplay and attract players through emotion and innovation rather than just conforming to traditional metrics. They should be made from the ground up with an emphasis on the player experience. They shouldn't be about how many adverts we can show in the first minute, or about how to get players to miss-click on “buy”. Our debut game Field Day is a fast-paced mobile Pv. PvE experience built on this philosophy. We still have spots left in our early access! Search “Field Day game” or go to field-day.gg
