Metal Finishing Supervisor

About the role

Lawrence Equipment is seeking an experienced Metal Finishing Supervisor to lead our team of polishers and grinders in the finishing department. This hands-on role is responsible for supervising and performing metal finishing operations including polishing, grinding, and cleaning stainless steel and other metal components used in our food production machinery.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience maintaining high-quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

Supervise, train, and coordinate the daily activities of metal finishers and grinders. Perform polishing, grinding, and cleaning of fabricated metal parts to achieve required finishes. Inspect parts to ensure they meet company quality standards and customer specifications. Work allocation, monitor productivity, and ensure deadlines are met.

Maintain safe work practices and enforce safety regulations. Collaborate with production, welding, and assembly departments to ensure smooth workflow. Manage inventory of polishing materials, tools, and equipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in metal finishing, polishing, or grinding (preferably stainless steel). 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of metal finishing tools, materials, and techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Commitment to safety and product quality. Bilingual English Spanish preferred.
