HS Girls Basketball Assistant Coach #2

Athletic Coach � Girls HS Basketball Assistant Coach #2 Octorara Area School District is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic individual to serve as an Assistant Coach #2 for the Octorara Girls HS Basketball program . The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student-athlete development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the overall mission of the Octorara Area School District.

Position Details Compensation: 9 Points @ $653 per point = $5877.00 Essential Responsibilities The Assistant Coach will be responsible for: Assisting the Head Coach with the leadership, instruction, supervision, and development of student-athletes participating in the program. Assisting with the planning and implementation of practices that promote skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.

Providing instruction and support in appropriate techniques, fundamentals, strategies, rules, and safety practices. Creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all student-athletes. Serving as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes. Supporting the Head Coach in establishing and maintaining appropriate team expectations and program standards.

Assisting with the supervision of student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and other team activities. Encouraging student participation and supporting efforts to build and maintain the program. Communicating effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, school administration, and other stakeholders.

Working collaboratively with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to support the overall success of the program. Promoting good sportsmanship and representing Octorara Area School District in a professional manner. Maintaining compliance with PIAA rules, District policies, and applicable athletic regulations. Attending practices, competitions, meetings, and other program activities as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Performing other duties related to the athletic program as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director, or administration.

Qualifications

Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and positively with student-athletes. Serve as a positive role model and mentor. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basketball, including techniques, strategies, rules, and fundamentals. Possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, coaching staff, parents/guardians, administrators, and school staff.

Demonstrate a commitment to developing student-athletes both athletically and personally. Prior coaching and/or competitive experience in basketball is preferred. Required Clearances & Training All required Pennsylvania clearances and PIAA trainings must be completed in accordance with District and PIAA requirements prior to assuming coaching responsibilities.
