Senior Auditor (3–5 years)

Audit Senior (External Audit): 3–5 years' experience Full-time | Employed by Kula Kula builds and runs South African finance teams for international companies: accounting firms, lenders and growing businesses in the UK and Europe. You're employed by Kula in South Africa on a formal SA employment contract, and you work as a dedicated member of one international client's audit team.

The role You'll run external audit engagements for European audit and professional services firms, from planning and fieldwork through to review and finalisation. This isn't a trainee role. You'll own sections of the audit file, review junior team members' work where the engagement needs it, and deal directly with client managers and partners.

You'll also get international audit exposure and work to European reporting standards and deadlines, without leaving South Africa.

What you'll do

Plan, execute and finalise external audit engagements, including risk assessment, materiality and the audit approach Run day-to-day fieldwork across several assignments at once, managing your own time and priorities Own sections of the audit file from start to finish, not just individual tasks Review financial statements, disclosures and supporting schedules for accuracy and IFRS compliance Assess internal controls, significant risk areas and audit findings, and raise issues early Prepare clear, well-documented working papers that stand up to manager and partner review Draft client deliverables such as audit findings, management letter points and requests for information Supervise, coach and review the work of junior team members where required Work directly with client managers and partners, giving updates, clearing review points and keeping the engagement on track Deliver to European reporting deadlines, especially during peak audit periods What we're looking for Roughly 3–5 years of external audit experience SAICA articles completed or finishing this year, or a recently qualified or qualified CA(SA).

ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent pathway will also be considered A working knowledge of IFRS and audit methodology (ISAs) Hands-on experience with audit software such as Case. Ware or Draftworx Experience running fieldwork and owning file sections with minimal supervision Strong written and spoken English, because you'll be client-facing An organised, deadline-driven approach and attention to detail A stable remote setup with fibre and backup power A valid passport with at least 12 months remaining, and willingness to make occasional short visits to a client office in Europe What you get Who employs you: Kula Staffing & Consulting is your legal employer.

You sign a South African employment contract, and PAYE and UIF are deducted and paid over in the normal way. You aren't an independent contractor and you don't invoice anyone. Pay: R35,000 – R55,000 per month gross, depending on experience and qualification status. We state the band because you shouldn't have to guess.

Hours: European business hours, roughly 09:00–17:30 SA time. No night shifts. Where you work: Remotely from anywhere in South Africa, as long as you have reliable connectivity. You may occasionally visit a client office in Europe, and we arrange and pay for those trips. If a client engagement ends: your employment with Kula doesn't automatically end with it.

We'll look to move you to another engagement. If none is available, the notice terms in your contract apply, and we'll tell you early rather than late. Leave: Statutory SA annual, sick and family responsibility leave, plus SA public holidays. Growth: International audit experience, direct work with European managers and partners, and a path into reviewer and manager-level roles.
