Community Mainstreaming Associates (CMA) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team! At CMA, we support individuals with developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, independent lives and being active members of their communities. As a DSP, you will play an important role in helping the people we support achieve their personal goals, build meaningful relationships, develop greater independence, and enjoy everyday life.
Essential responsibilities As a Direct Support Professional, you will: Provide direct care, support, and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. Support individuals with daily living activities, personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks as needed. Encourage independence and assist individuals in making choices about their daily lives.
Support community participation, recreational activities, appointments, and other activities. Follow individualized service plans and support individuals in achieving their personal goals. Promote dignity, respect, choice, inclusion, and self-advocacy. Assist with medication administration and health-related needs as trained and authorized.
Maintain accurate documentation, including daily notes, progress notes, and required records. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, families, and other members of the individual's support team. Follow all agency policies, procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents or concerns in accordance with agency requirements.
