Meat Manager

Meat Manager Department: Meat Department Reports To: Store Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary Oversees the Meat Department, supervising staff, ensuring quality products, and achieving sales and profit goals while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and supervise meat department staff.
• Plan, schedule, and direct daily cutting, wrapping, and merchandising activities.
• Order, receive, and inspect meat products for quality and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and department paperwork.
• Meet or exceed sales, margin, and labor goals.
• Perform cutting, trimming, wrapping, and grinding duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in meat cutting or foodservice required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of meat cutting, merchandising, and food safety standards.
• Ability to manage budgets, scheduling, and inventory. Physical Requirements
• Stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Lift/move up to 60 lbs regularly.
• Work in refrigerated environments.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions. Scheduling Expectations Varied schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Success Indicators (KPIs)
• Sales and profit goals achieved.
