Industrial Truck Driver
Job description
SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Melt Supervisor, the Truck Operator sets the pouring floor with unpoured molds and removes poured molds in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Reviews pouring schedule with leadman to decide where and when molds are set-up. Identifies molds by product number and sets them on pouring floor Removes molds that are ready to be moved from the pouring floor and places them in their proper area.
Lays sand on the pouring floor to make it easier to pick up molds. Assists laborers in floor operations Assists Charger with their duties Completes daily forklift maintenance checklists Informs Leadman/Supervisor of unsafe conditions Must maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Work Experience Needed: One to three years of verifiable work history. Experience working in a foundry environment preferred. Some experience driving a forklift. License or Certificate Required Forklift license Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one situations to other employees in the organization.
Reasoning Ability Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch, talk or hear and Use foot/feet to operate machine. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift/and or move items up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/and or move items up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/and or move items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
The employee must lift an assortment of clamps when assisting laborer and may have to stoop or kneel when clamping molds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Tools/Equipment Used The forklift driver will regularly use a forklift and occasionally will use clamps, a hammer, wedges and glue.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in wet, humid conditions (non-weather), is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Because of the nature and activity of the job, the employee must always be looking and listening while he/she is working.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUPMENT REQUIRED Hardhat, safety glasses with side shields, slip-off safety shoes (#646 Kick Off shoes from Iron Age), gloves, hearing protection, long sleeve shirts and spats. Please note that nylon jogging pants, sweatpants and shorts can not be worn.
