Senior Maintenance Technician (Live-In) The Bakerfield | Newmarket, ON The Opportunity The Senior Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of the property, with a goal to creating a high-level experience of customer service to the residents. This is an onsite position located in Newmarket, ON.

What You Will Do

Oversee and complete preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, including work orders, minor plumbing/electrical repairs, and suite turnover. Conduct daily site and weekly vacant-suite inspections, ensuring suites, common areas, exteriors, and equipment are clean, safe, and rent-ready. Prioritize work orders and resident service requests, resolving minor maintenance issues within 24 hours and maintaining strong resident relations.

Monitor and maintain building systems and equipment, including HVAC/mechanical systems, boilers, elevators, fire panels, sprinklers, gauges, and safety systems. Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance, including hazardous-material procedures, MSD documentation, emergency response, and occupational safety requirements.

Coordinate and oversee maintenance/cleaning staff, vendors, and contractors, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to quality standards. Maintain accurate records, service logs, inspections, supplies, and preventive-maintenance schedules, while ensuring tools and equipment are properly serviced. Support sustainability and property upkeep through energy-efficient maintenance, seasonal landscaping, snow/litter removal, environmental hazard response, and community initiatives.

Who You Are

Key Qualifications Education

• High school diploma supplemented with post-secondary courses. WHMIS and First Aid Training an asset. Experience - 5 years’ experience in all areas of building operations, including mechanical, fire and safety, electrical and HVAC systems. General building construction knowledge and experience. Able to read and review construction drawings. Computer Skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Other Skills and Behaviours Relationship Skills – Must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal relationship skills, and generally love engaging with public Organizational/Multi-Task Skills – Must be a self-starter with high degree of initiative, agility, creativity and flexibility. The Expected Base Pay Range: $40,000 - $49,000 per year. The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
