This position develops reusable parametric templates that generate accurate 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings across multiple configurations, dimensions, and engineering requirements.
Working with Engineering and the automation development team, the Designer supports a long-term industrial storage tank project that combines engineering calculations, standardized requirements, Inventor models, and automated drawing generation. Engineering supplies design criteria and calculations; this role focuses on Inventor modeling and detailing.
Strong Inventor skills are essential. Programming experience is beneficial but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Autodesk Inventor part, assembly, and drawing templates used by the automated design system Create parametric models that accommodate varying dimensions and configurations while preserving design relationships. Build and maintain assemblies with properly defined constraints; apply, modify, and troubleshoot assembly relationships.
reate complete fabrication drawing templates with base, projected, section, and detail views; configure dimensions, centerlines, weld symbols, balloons, annotations, and parts lists. Modify existing models and templates to support additional configurations and engineering requirements.
