Davenport, IA Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN Join a Team Dedicated to Women's Health The Group Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing Women's Health team.
This position provides clinical support for in-office gynecologic procedures while partnering with our physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver exceptional care throughout every stage of a woman's life. Position Summary
This role is responsible for preparing patients for in-office procedures, assisting providers during procedures, educating patients, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and compassionate clinical experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative environment and thrives in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Essential Responsibilities Prepare patients for office visits and gynecologic procedures.
Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during in-office procedures, including: Endometrial biopsies Colposcopies Hysteroscopies LEEP procedures IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals Vulvar and cervical biopsies Other minor gynecologic procedures Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and procedure rooms.
Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and assessments. Administer medications, injections, and vaccines within scope of practice. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures. Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, recovery, and follow-up care. Coordinate procedure scheduling, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with infection prevention, OSHA, and safety standards. Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, nurses, and front office staff to deliver outstanding patient care.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Registered Nursing program. Current certification or licensure appropriate for position: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (preferred) Iowa LPN License Iowa RN License Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain). Previous experience in OB/GYN, Women's Health, ambulatory surgery, or a physician office is preferred but not required.
Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative clinical team. Why Join The Group?
