Job description
Be the Bridge for Families You will serve as a critical advocate within the Child Support Division , ensuring children in our community receive the financial stability they deserve. This is not just "paperwork"—it is about navigating complex family dynamics, enforcing court orders, and managing the administrative heartbeat of the Prosecutor's Office.
What You Will Achieve Secure Financial Support: actively manage a caseload to establish, modify, and enforce child support orders, directly impacting the quality of life for Clay County children. Community Liaison: serve as the primary point of contact for parents, employers, and state agencies, resolving inquiries with empathy and accuracy.
Legal Precision: prepare and process critical judicial documents, ensuring all case files are court-ready and compliant with state regulations. System Integrity: maintain impeccable data records in the statewide system, ensuring no case "falls through the cracks." What You Bring Essential Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience: 1–3 years in a professional office environment (legal, social work, or administrative background is a plus). Tech-Savvy: Intermediate to Expert proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel). You must be comfortable learning proprietary case management software quickly. Communication: The ability to write clear, professional reports and de-escalate tense conversations with the public.
Core Competencies Resilience: You can handle stressful situations and emotional topics with objectivity and professionalism. Discretion: You understand the sensitivity of family law and maintain strict confidentiality. Mobility: You possess a valid driver's license and are insured to travel occasionally for training or county business.
Why Clay County? Government roles offer stability that the private sector often cannot match. Pension: We have 2 fully funded retirement plans (vested after 5 and 8 years). This is a rare, high-value benefit. Work-Life Balance: Accrue 2 weeks of vacation and 2.5 weeks of sick leave in your first year, plus 13 ½ paid holidays.
Comprehensive Health: Medical, dental, and vision options, plus free life insurance for full-time staff. Growth: Tuition reimbursement and certification support available for long-term employees.
