GUEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE / F&B ATTENDANT Cottage Inn by the Sea ABOUT THE PROPERTY Located along the scenic bluffs of Pismo Beach, Cottage Inn by the Sea is a charming oceanfront hotel inspired by the English countryside, offering beautiful Pacific Ocean views and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. The 80-room property features cozy accommodations with fireplaces, an oceanfront heated pool and spa, outdoor fire pits, and Bluff Bistro for casual dining overlooking the water.

Just a short walk from the Pismo Beach Pier and downtown, Cottage Inn provides an inviting home base for enjoying the beaches, Central Coast wineries, and other nearby attractions. THE ROLE As a Guest Service Representative / AM Food & Beverage Attendant, you’ll help create a great guest experience from check-in to breakfast in the Bistro.

This hands-on role combines Front Desk support with morning food and beverage service, giving you the opportunity to welcome guests, assist with their stay, and serve coffee, beverages, and light meals in a friendly, inviting setting. You will: Welcome arriving guests, assist with check-in and check-out, and help ensure a smooth experience throughout their stay Answer guest questions, assist with reservations, and share helpful information about hotel amenities and local attractions Process guest payments, manage cash and credit transactions, and maintain accurate guest accounts Answer incoming calls, assist with outgoing calls, coordinate wake-up calls, and deliver guest messages and mail Take Bistro food and beverage orders, enter orders into the POS system, and process payments accurately Prepare coffee, other beverages, and light food items according to established recipes and procedures Deliver food and beverages to tables and check in with guests to ensure they're enjoying their experience Bus, wipe down, and reset tables to keep the dining area ready for incoming guests Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Bistro, including dining areas, equipment, and service stations Complete opening, closing, and side work duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restocking supplies Follow food safety, sanitation, cash-handling, and guest service standards Maintain clear communication with Front Desk, Bistro, and other hotel team members Step in to support other departments as needed to help the hotel run smoothly WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Guests receive warm, attentive service whether they're checking in at the Front Desk or enjoying breakfast in the Bistro.

Transactions and orders are handled accurately, the Bistro stays clean and inviting, and both areas operate smoothly thanks to a flexible, dependable team member who is ready to help wherever needed. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Previous customer service, hospitality, restaurant, or food and beverage experience preferred Friendly, welcoming approach and a genuine interest in helping guests Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude Comfortable balancing Front Desk responsibilities with Bistro service Ability to handle cash, credit transactions, and POS systems accurately Strong attention to detail when managing guest accounts, orders, and payments Ability to prepare coffee, beverages, and light food items or learn established recipes and procedures Organized, dependable, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Comfortable answering phones, responding to guest questions, and managing multiple requests Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, or willingness to learn Flexible availability for morning shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and carry items Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
