Description Field Technician – Industrial Hygiene Division TTI Environmental, Inc. is an integrated environmental services contractor and consulting firm serving government, industrial, commercial, academic, financial, and private clients nationwide. Headquartered in Moorestown, New Jersey, TTI’s team of experienced, certified, and licensed professionals work directly with clients to provide sound solutions to environmental challenges.

TTI is seeking a full-time Field Technician to join our Industrial Hygiene Division. This role involves fieldwork, on-site assessments, and technical evaluations. This position provides an opportunity for the right individual to grow and settle into higher level positions within the Industrial Hygiene career field. The ideal candidate will reside in Northern New Jersey or one of the five boroughs of New York City.

This position offers a flexible remote and in-person work environment, with work performed from home, at client sites, and at TTI’s regional office in Bloomfield, NJ.

Responsibilities

Inspection and on-site monitoring for asbestos, mold, lead paint, and indoor air quality Conduct detailed surveys for asbestos, lead based paint, right to know, and mold Perform air monitoring and contractor oversight during asbestos abatement projects Maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment Technical report writing and interpretation of analytical data Timeliness, time management, ability to meet deadlines, and responsiveness to emergencies is vital Assignments are of varying complexity and under direction of a project manager Qualifications New Jersey Asbestos Safety Technician certification a plus Minimum of two (2) years of relevant asbestos experience preferred Current EPA/AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector accreditation preferred Lead-related licenses/certifications preferred New York environmental, asbestos, mold, and lead certifications a plus, including: NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector NYSDOH Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor NYSDOL Mold Assessor Knowledge of general building mechanical systems and building construction Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field preferred Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills General computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Willingness to learn, complete training, and obtain additional certifications as needed Requirements High School Diploma or Mechanical/Trade School Diploma Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and demonstrate self-motivation Ability to travel/commute to remote sites as needed Willingness to work limited weekends and second shift assignments Ability to perform field work and meet the physical demands of the position Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment and safely use ladders Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a pre-employment screening and physical Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Compensation & Benefits TTI offers a dynamic team environment with excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
