Job Description: Job Title : High School Guidance Counselor Location: Elsberry High School – Elsberry R-II School District Start Date: August 4, 2026 Position Overview: Elsberry High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School Guidance Counselor to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and post-secondary success of our students.

Key Responsibilities

Provide academic, social-emotional, and college/career counseling to high school students Assist students with course selection, graduation requirements, and post-secondary planning Coordinate and support college, career, and scholarship opportunities Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines Respond to student needs with professionalism, confidentiality, and care Qualifications: Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field (preferred) Valid Missouri School Counselor certification (or ability to obtain) Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Commitment to building positive relationships with students and staff Compensation & Contract: Salary based on the district’s teacher salary schedule, commensurate with experience Includes a 20-day contract extension, with flexible scheduling to meet district and student needs Why Join Elsberry High School?
