Raw Material Receptionist

Job Description: 📍 Castle Cary 💷 Competitive salary 🎁 + Company performance bonus & Exceptional Benefits ⏰ Mon-Fri - 37.5 Hours per week ⏳ Assignment role – 8 Months 💼 The Role As a Raw Materials Receptionist , you will play a critical role in ensuring all incoming raw materials meet the quality, food safety and compliance standards required for the James Wellbeloved brand.

Working within the laboratory team, you'll be responsible for sampling, testing and approving raw materials, maintaining accurate records, supporting audits and driving continuous improvement activities. ✅ What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a laboratory , quality assurance or food manufacturing environment.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards. Experience carrying out testing, sampling or analytical activities. Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively. Good organisational and record-keeping skills. Knowledge of food safety , quality systems and compliance requirements would be advantageous.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. 📝 Key Responsibilities Receive, register, sample and inspect incoming raw materials. Conduct laboratory testing and analysis , including chemical and NIR analysis. Prepare samples, chemical dilutions and testing materials in line with laboratory procedures.

Make quality control decisions , including the management of non-conformances, concessions and rejections. Maintain accurate records , control charts and laboratory documentation. Monitor stock levels and manage raw material and sample storage areas. Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory and quality function.
