General Duties: Operate, sustain, and support critical IT infrastructure and services for the Moorman Space Education and Training Center.

Responsibilities include

hands-on systems administration and maintenance across NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, commercial networks, and closed Top Secret restricted environments, alongside emerging 537 TRS command priorities. This role demands high personal accountability, dedicated customer focus, and swift troubleshooting to ensure continuous operations with minimal downtime.

Specific duties: Diagnose and resolve technical failures, logging all corrective actions in the maintenance tracking system. Maintain and support network switches and related infrastructure. Perform preventative maintenance, including deploying software updates, operating system upgrades, and routine patches. Evaluate and test emerging hardware and software to verify compatibility with existing production environments Provide a consolidated help desk function and serve as the primary IT focal point for customer support, capable of handling the full range of IT-related issues to include: Serve as the central IT help desk focal point, delivering responsive customer support via walk-in, phone, ticketing desk portal, HD and cybersecurity org boxes, and the Rockit chat system for classified classroom support.

Triage, escalate, and resolve technical issues, track tickets and outages through full resolution, and maintain relevant technical records and user documentation. Other IT duties as assigned Assist the primary ISSO with cybersecurity compliance and operational security duties as required, including: Implementing and supporting the enforcement of Space Force cybersecurity policies, standards, and technical countermeasures Understand baseline cybersecurity certification requirements IAW AFMAN 17-1303, verifying credentials (e.

g., Sec+ ce or approved DoD equivalent) for assigned personnel on an as-needed basis in coordination with the ISSM. Maintain familiarity with AFMAN 17-1301 access control mandates, supporting the ISSM as required to verify security clearances, need-to-know, and annual training completion before granting access. Stay cognizant of authorized user access documentation requirements IAW AFRIMS, assisting the ISSO/ISSM with record verification and maintenance when required.

Maintain awareness of applicable STIGs and SRGs, supporting the ISSO/ISSM as needed to assess and verify hardware, software, and firmware configuration compliance.

Required Skills

  • System administration experience, preferably with USAF NIPR and SIPR
  • VMWare/v. Sphere
  • Switch experience (configuring VLANs, ports, etc.)
  • Customer service focus with help desk experience
  • Projection and VTC experience
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Current Security+ with continuing education (needs to be current) Education and Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or systems engineering preferred. 6 years of System Administration experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree Experience: 6 years of experience with customer focused system administration Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000 Closing Date: We will accept applications until 12/1/26.
